Typical School Day:
I pick Henry up from his class and chat with his teachers about his latest antics. We go home, he eats a healthy snack. We play, dance, sing, wrestle, cuddle, go on a walk, etc. until Sam gets home. We cook a Pinterest recipe for dinner. The only time we turn on the tv is at 7:00 to watch the Rangers, and Henry is only allowed to have his pacifier at bedtime.
Today:
I pick Henry up from his class and he is wearing a skin-tight size 6 month onesie, and no pants or shoes. He got dirty today, and apparently I haven't put another change of clothes in his diaper bag since the beginning of school last September. We go home and I let Henry have off-brand Cinnamon Toast Crunch for snack. I sit my huge pregnant butt on the couch, and Henry and I eat an entire bag of barbecue potato chips while watching The Bachelorette. He switches back and forth between not one, but two pacifiers in his hand. Sam gets home and we order a pizza for dinner.
I'll try again tomorrow.

Boy or Girl?
I'm 24 weeks along now, and so far this pregnancy has been so different from Henry's. I haven't had tons of nausea (just the normal "I feel gross and I'm going to vomit" stuff), and this one is SOOOOO much calmer than Henry was. Henry was violent in there. There were times I was sure he was about to bust out. But this one is very calm and gentle. Let's hope that trend continues.
I am trying to stay active, but I'm reaching the point where "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" and wrestling with Henry is getting uncomfortable. My wrestling moves may need to go on hiatus for the next couple of months.| 24 Weeks! |
I thought it would be fun to do some gender predictor quizzes based on old wives tales. What do you think-boy or girl?
Are you carrying high or low? Low-boy
What is baby's heart rate? Under 140-boy
How did your skin change? Skin got better-boy
Do you have a lot of nausea? Not a lot- boy
Do you have cravings? Sweets-girl
Did your legs get more hairy with pregnancy? No-girl
What is the shape of your abdomen? Mostly front-boy
Are your feet warmer or colder compared to before pregnancy? Warmer-girl
More fruit cravings or more meat/cheese cravings? Meat/cheese-boy
Has baby's dad gained weight? No-girl
Has your nose increased in size? No-girl
Have you experienced more headaches? Yes-boy
I also looked at a Chinese gender chart that is allegedly more than 90% accurate, and it said girl.
So basically, it's about 50-50. We'll find out in about 16 weeks!

Summer Lovin'
We are LOVING summer! It hasn't been too miserably hot, so we have been able to spend lots of time outside.
We found the BEST $5 entertainment-a splash pad in Trophy Club. I could (almost) just let him loose to enjoy the water. We went with his friends Hudson, Maddox, and Jaxon. He is so lucky to have lots of equally energetic little boys to play with!
Every Friday we have a playdate with a big group of friends. Last Friday we had a water day!
My parents and brother came in for a couple of days on their way to San Fransisco. We went to a Ranger game, SEA Life Aquarium in Grapevine, and wandered around the Grapevine Mills Mall.

Even with all the outdoor fun, he has found time to write and perform his own music. This song is called "Heyyyyy." It's worth the 26 seconds. It will change your life.

Reasons My Son Is Crying
*He wants bubbles in his bath.
*He wants a banana.
*I chose the wrong banana from the bunch.
*The water in his swimming pool is too wet.
*He wants in his high chair.
*He does NOT want in his high chair.
*We went on a long, lovely walk to enjoy the cool morning.
*There are too many bubbles in his bath and they are touching his face.
*He cannot jump on his unborn brother or sister like a trampoline.
*He is pulling out his own hair and it hurts.
*He cannot dump out cupfuls of bath water onto the bathroom floor.
*The stove is hot and he can't touch it.

He's No Michael Phelps.
We signed up for baby swim lessons with some friends and their babies. I was expecting a little splashing in the water, maybe a little floating, and that's it. Nope. There was singing, kicking, practice hanging on to the wall, and going underwater. Oh, we're not supposed to call it "going under". We're supposed to call it "swimming." Here's how the first day went:
Oh man. I thought we were in for a LOOONG couple of weeks. I don't know what happened, but he loved it after that! I think he was just trying to impress his lady friends Sydney, Audrey, and Molly.

Drive-Thru Safari
There is a cute little drive-thru safari park near Rusk. I remember going there twice when I was little. The first time, a buffalo stuck his entire head in our car, and the second time a llama sneezed green boogers all over my mom and me. So when my dad suggested we take Henry, I was definitely on board!
Hank loved throwing the little food pellets. Not necessarily at animals. He would throw food in the car, while the windows were rolled up. He also stuck food in every nook and cranny in my car. I still randomly find pellets hidden in there.
He didn't have any problem hand-feeding anything that came to the window. He really is fearless.
I love this camel's smiling face. I shall name him Leopold.
This guy was big. Really, really big. I like to think his name is Hoss.
And this is a baby zebra. Oh my gosh.

May Things
It's mid-June, so it's about time I get some May pictures on here, right?!
My A-DORABLE cousin Jennifer graduated from Lufkin High School a couple of weeks ago. She's a tiny, sassy little thing. She just made the pom squad at UT (you know, those gorgeous girls that wear chaps on the sidelines at the football games? Yeah, she's one of them.) She's going to see if they have any maternity chaps for me to wear around the house and to go grocery shopping and stuff.
Hank and his Sweetie at graduation
The older DuBose girl cousins (Meagan, Lauren, Erin, Hot UT Pom Girl Jennifer, me, Madeline)
And all (but 1) of the DuBose girls, plus our sweet Memaw in the middle
And then here's just some random pictures from my phone.
His hair will grow to cover the receding hairline one day, I just KNOW it!
Hank and his Coach, going to grab a bite to eat
If you look carefully, you can see blue shaving gel on his face. He was trying to be like Daddy.
$.50 corn dog day at Sonic! WOOHOO!
And we got a new pool
Before swim lessons
During swim lessons
After swim lessons!
The boy likes to make noise
